We expect over 1000 guests at our events and we need more than 300 volunteers to make sure things run smoothly. If you are passionate about being part of the solution to end homelessness in Toronto, volunteering at Homeless Connect Toronto is a great way to get involved.

types of event volunteers needed:

greeters

Greeters welcome each guest to the event, starting outside! You will be the first person our guests meet at the event, so be prepared to say hello with a smile and provide a warm welcome. You will help manage the crowd outside, ensure orderly conduct within our line-up, answer any questions and offer additional support.

gophers

Gophers provide extra support to services and/or relieve other volunteers so they receive adequate breaks. You will assist at different stations throughout the day. Ready to take on any job? Then, this is the perfect role for you.

registration

Registration volunteers assist guests with filling out any registration forms, helping guests identify the services that they would like to access at the event, and even connect them to a translator (if needed). Your role is to help them figure out what’s available at the event and how they should prioritize their day.

data

Feeling shy but still want to be involved? Data volunteers help enter information from registration and guest experience surveys throughout the event day. You will be required to bring a laptop to the event to enter data.

guides

Guides accompany our guests from registration to the on-site services. You will also answer questions with locating services throughout the day. Your role provides a one-on-one concierge service to our guests. Be prepared to be on your feet all day, walking (sometimes, even running!) around with your guest.

set-up / tear-down

Set-up and tear-down assists with set-up on event day (before 9AM) and tear-down at the end of the event (after 4PM). We may also require additional support before the event. If you are able to assist, indicate on your volunteer registration.
